ASK

To manage simultaneous global and localised launches of Startup Genome’s Startup Ecosystem Reports. The goal: to drive brand awareness and legitimacy for Startup Genome as well as its network of 300+ partners and members.

CONTEXT

“Startups are a gamble, but it’s possible to better understand why some thrive and many more die by looking at the ecosystems in which they operate. Such is the mission of…Startup Genome, composed of a group of researchers and entrepreneurs who, every year, interview thousands of founders and investors around the world to get a better handle on what’s changing in the regions where they operate, and what remains stubbornly the same.”
Connie Loizos, Techcrunch

Startup Genome is a “leading innovation policy advisory and research firm” based across the U.S, Germany, and India. Annually, they publish global intelligence to help founders, investors, and policy-makers “accelerate the success of their startup ecosystem.”

Together with the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), the 2018 Global Startup Ecosystem Report was launched in Istanbul, Turkey, at the Global Entrepreneurship Congress. This launch required the simultaneous coordination of over 40 launches in participating cities around the world – from Atlanta to Hong Kong.

STRATEGY & PRocess

Templatize: create the kit. Facilitate easy Onboarding. Coordinate global social media amplification.

…Insights from the report can be useful for accelerating startup growth and catalysing action among policymakers and supporters to improve ecosystem performance.

Forbes

…On the value of the report, outgoing AANZ Chair Marcel van den Assum said that not only did the report raise New Zealand’s profile with the 60+ other ecosystems also taking part, but it provided insights into where we are best placed to focus our resources to enhance the impact of New Zealand startups and technology.
